São Paulo and Flamengo will have the most attractive confrontation of the quarterfinals of the Brazilian Cup. The duel was defined in a draw by CBF on Friday (6), in which Palmeiras also faced his next opponent. The alviverde team will face Ceará.

The roundtrip departures will take place in the next two weekends, without defined days and times.

Some teams, such as Flamengo (Everton Ribeiro and Pedro) and Palmeiras (Weverton and Gabriel Menino), will have important absences due to the overlap of matches with the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers for other South American teams.

The gauchos Grêmio and Internacional will face the two Serie B teams alive in the dispute, Cuiabá and América-MG, respectively. These two teams are currently in the Serie A access zone and have left Botafogo and Corinthians behind.

Those who advance from São Paulo x Flamengo will face the winner of Cuiabá x Grêmio in the semifinals. The Palmeiras x Ceará qualifier will face the winner of the Internacional x América-MG.

Last Sunday (1st), the Morumbi team faced the red and black team for the Brazilian Championship and achieved an important victory, 4 to 1, in Maracana.

To reach the quarterfinals, Fernando Diniz’s men eliminated Fortaleza in the round of 16 on penalties, while the squad led by Domènec Torrent beat Atlético.

Palmeiras beat Red Bull Bragantino in the last round, in which they played their second home game. Now, the alviverde team will play the match as a visitor again, under the command of Ceará.

Champion in 1998, 2012 and 2015, the alviverde team seeks its fourth title, while the tricolor team fights for the unprecedented achievement.

In their best season, the Paulines won the runner-up in 2000, in a decision in which they were surpassed by Cruzeiro, the greatest champion of the competition, with six trophies.

Five teams from São Paulo were already knockout champions, including Corinthians and Santos, who ended up saying goodbye to this year’s edition in the round of 16.

The Parque São Jorge team was beaten by América-MG, while the beach team fell to Ceará.
