The truck driver Diovany Manoel Cândido, 34, and the assistant Ramon Vieira da Silva, 25, went through an unusual situation after unloading a load of 5,500 bricks in a lot in the Itamaraty district, in Anápolis, 55 kilometers from Goiânia (LET’S GO). It was only after the service ended that they realized the truck had stuck in place, in an almost impossible position to get out.
The vehicle, almost the same width as the lot, was behind the load of bricks, which were stacked in such a way as to obstruct the exit. Videos and photos of the moment, which took place on September 24, began to circulate in groups of friends and then went viral on the Internet, showing the difficult situation that Diovany and Ramón lived through.
At first, the two were divided between the possibility of removing the bricks from the site, having to redo the entire service, and trying to maneuver the truck into a favorable position. Diovany comes to play in one of the videos, saying that he would have to lift the truck with his bare hands and get it off the lot.
At another moment Ramón appears saying: “Look what happened. We unloaded the truck without paying attention to where we were. How do you get out of here now?” In good humor and laughing at the situation, the two did not believe what was happening. Diovany ended up opting to try the maneuver, despite the limited space.
“I was fighting for half an hour, maneuvering to get the truck out. When we got out of there, I could twist my shirt so sweaty it was. It scared me, because the truck is almost the width of the lot. less “, says the trucker, Twitter.
Two hour work
The job to unload the bricks from the truck took about two hours, they said. Diovany, who has worked in the feature for 17 years, says it was the first time he experienced something like this.
“I looked at it [Ramon]He looked at me and we started laughing, but I said: ‘Wow, I’m going to try to maneuver, because I’m not going to put that brick in the truck again, no,’ ”he says. The street was already full of people at that time, seeing if they could get the vehicle out of the place.
Ramón says that the space where the bricks were placed was decided by the client, who advised him not to place the truck on the sidewalk. “Either we put it there to facilitate the work or we left it on the street and took the bricks there, which would take longer,” says the assistant.
Diovany even measured the width of the batch earlier. According to him, they took 14 steps wide, while the truck corresponds to 13. He knew it would be difficult, but decided to take a risk. When he realized that the situation would be a little worse than he imagined, after unloading all the bricks, he concluded: “Yes, now we are going to fight to get out of here.”
He says he was maneuvering the vehicle from side to side until he was six feet from the pile of bricks. “As it was, it was like a crab, walking sideways,” he describes. He then took the front of the truck to the back of the lot and backed up.
“I told Ramón to record a video and play with the drivers, but I never imagined that it would have all this repercussion,” reveals the trucker. The two live in the city of Campo Limpo de Goiás, 17 kilometers from Anápolis. When they got home the day after the event, the two were surprised by the images already circulating on Instagram profiles.
