Volkswagen is expanding the line of the new Golf with several more equipped, fast and expensive versions, with the arrival of the GTI and GTD, the hybrid GTE and the preparation of the Golf R. But, and how is the other side, with the majority hatch medium cheap and simple? Is the European car as “naked” as the lens here?
Before it becomes available, the basic version of the new Volkswagen Golf begins to sell in Europe for less than 20 thousand euros (the equivalent of R $ 123 thousand, with the euro above R $ 6.15). One thing it has in common with other basic models in Brazil: it does not have a surname for the configuration. Oh, and it comes with “supercap”. The appearance is poor, remembering even the basic versions of Gol and Polo do Brasil. But make no mistake, as the content is infinitely superior …

Not bad, as it comes with many elements that are optional on many national cars, such as the multimedia center and LED headlights. It even comes with the digital panel that was sold separately and is only now being placed on more versions of Brazilian Volkswagen cars.
Now let’s look at the list of options. For starters, the front and rear parking sensor costs 580 euros (R $ 3,500), while the Comfort package, which adds height-adjustable front seats, center armrest and four USB ports, is offered for 295 euros (R $ 1, 8 thousand). Cruise control is also optional and costs 220 euros (R $ 1.3 thousand).
Another team are the 16-inch light alloy wheels, for 980 euros (R $ 6 thousand). It is the only way to add mixed tires (summer / winter), which cost another 200 euros (R $ 1,200). If you still want heated seats and steering wheels to face the cold, the winter package sells for 625 euros (R $ 3,800).
So would you have such a basic Golf? The equipment list is reasonable, even by European standards. It would be worth it for those who will actually buy the car, but not so much for those who choose to lease and pay in installments …
