The authorization for the payment of arrears was published in the Official Gazette on Monday, November 23.
Of the 1.1 million prepayments, more than 600 thousand beneficiaries are part of this new batch of automatic review.
According to the INSS, the disclosure of the number of insured is still waiting for the reviews to be processed. The difference is valid only for beneficiaries whose average salary would guarantee aid above the minimum wage, but received quotas equal to the floor.
Due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the medical expertise necessary to verify the right to temporary disability benefit was discontinued.

How to know if you will receive the difference
The INSS will send a letter to the insured who can receive the difference. The letter will contain information on the recalculation, as well as the total amount owed.

Payment will be made to a current account, for policyholders who receive this type of payment, directly at the bank’s cash register or withdraw with a magnetic card.
