He will be heard by investigators working on the investigation investigating President Jair Bolsonaro’s political interference in the PF.

The investigation was opened by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), with authorization from the Federal Supreme Court (STF), after former Minister of Justice Sergio Moro resigned from his post in late April. He said Bolsonaro pressured him to make changes at the FP summit.

Valeixo will be heard for being fired by Bolsonaro. Instead, and contrary to the then Minister Moro, the President appointed Alexandre Ramage. However, Ramage’s appointment was blocked by Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), when analyzing a lawsuit filed by the PDT.

Ministers from the military wing of the government must testify after Valeixo.

The investigative reports were cited by former Justice Minister Sérgio Moro when he resigned, and are under investigation.

The investigation was authorized by the STF and will investigate whether Moro’s charges are true. If they are not, the former minister may face justice on defamatory charges and crimes against honor.

The case is in charge of the rapporteur of the minister Celso de Mello. Moro testified for about eight hours in the investigation last Saturday (2).

Valeixo was the axis of Moro’s departure from the federal government. Without agreeing with Bolsonaro’s decision to exonerate Valeixo, the former Lava Jato judge resigned and reported during his departure that the president made the change because he wanted to politically interfere with the Federal Police.

Video of meeting with Bolsonaro

Investigators await the delivery of the video of the meeting in which Bolsonaro would have spoken of political interference in the FP, which would corroborate Moro’s statement. On Tuesday (5), Celso de Mello gave the government 72 hours to deliver the recordings of the meeting mentioned by Moro.

According to Andréia Sadi’s blog, Planalto feared the broadcast of the video because, in addition to being a test, it was “shameful” for the president. On Thursday (7), the Attorney General’s Office (AGU) asked the Minister Celso de Mello for authorization to deliver to the Court only a part of the recordings of the meeting.

According to sources heard by the blog, the meeting discussed issues that went beyond political interference in the FP, which would further expose the way the president behaves in the fight against the coronavirus, minimizing the effects of the pandemic. This would generate negative exposure for the federal government.
