The body of a man was found after the floods began to descend in the municipality of Castelo, on the morning of this Friday (11). The victim was located on Rua Soares, in the Independência neighborhood, in front of Hortina de Gallina.
According to popular information, the victim was a resident of the place and his name was Pedro. The Military Police are at the scene, but have not yet confirmed the identity of the victim. The suspicion is that the rains took him away. The body is still in the place awaiting the arrival of the investigation of the Civil Police, to confirm the cause of death.
In the last 24 hours, the municipality of Castelo received 56.73 mm of rain and the Castelo River rose 6 meters above the normal level. This Friday morning (11), according to the Civil Defense, the water fell approximately 2.2 meters.
According to the latest Civil Defense bulletin, this morning 180 people are displaced and the flood has caused several floods and losses. The Centro, Niterói and Esplanada neighborhoods were the most affected, the ES 379 had completely closed the Castelo x Muniz Freire highway and the ES 166 was partially blocked between km 18 and 30.
