The author of the message says in the mail to know where the elected councilor lives and says that she is going to buy a weapon and that “nothing in the world will prevent” her from killing her.

“What is scary is that my real address was there. I have received several racist attacks since I was elected, but that threat is the first time. Despite this, they will not silence us,” he said.

He said he warned the police and will file a police report on Monday (7). The Civil Police of Paraná reported that they were informed of the threat and are following the case.

According to the councilor, the attack is an example of the structural racism that exists in Curitiba and Brazil.

Just look at the words the author uses in the message. As we gain space, these people, who have this hatred, manifest it in an increasingly strong way.

Dartora said she has been receiving racist attacks since she was elected, but that this was the first time she had received a death threat.

“We cannot normalize that. We are going to fight this violence,” he said.
