– The recommendation in a case of moderate severity in a 74-year-old man would be to control his comorbidities, if any, use anticoagulants and treat possible complications of the disease. This was a measure, so to speak, prophylactic and, in fact, it is not a treatment ”, explains Dalholm, who adds that it is also important to monitor the clinical status of the patient.

The use of antibody cocktails to treat new coronavirus infections is experimental, as explained by professor and researcher Alessandro Farias, coordinator of the Diagnostic Front of the Unicamp Task Force against Covid-19. Although its efficacy has not yet been proven, preliminary results suggested a satisfactory result when used early in the disease in patients with a moderate condition.
– This type of cocktail uses several different antibodies and has different specificities. Then they will stick to different parts of the virus protein.
