More documents were attached to the Brazilian driver’s digital wallet. The Certificate of Vehicle Registration (CRV) and Certificate of Annual License (CLA) are now part of the Certificate of Registration and Vehicle License (CRLV-e). The vehicle document will be available through the Digital Traffic Card (CDT) application, which also houses the digital version of the National Driving License (CNH).
The resolution of the National Traffic Council (Contran) that approved the digitization of the documents still extinguished the proof of transfer of ownership (former DUT) and transformed it into the Authorization for the Transfer of Vehicle Ownership (ATPV-e). The measure will be valid from this Monday (4) for new registrations. Documents printed on green paper money will continue to apply, in addition to CRV Digital.

“CRLV-e and ATPV-e were our last documents to be digitized and as a result, no transit agency will use more paper money,” explains the director general of the National Traffic Department (Denatran) and president of Contran, Frederico Carneiro. In addition to the CDT application, the CRLV-e will be available in digital format, after the settlement of all debts, on the Denatran portal or through the Detrans state service channels.
If you prefer, the vehicle owner can also print the document on plain white A4 paper, which will have the security QR code, valid for inspection. Registration is mandatory when purchasing a zero kilometer vehicle; buy / sell a used one; change of municipality of residence or residence of the owner and change of category or change of vehicle characteristics.
How do you know CRV Digital?
For those who already have the registration document and the authorization to transfer ownership in paper money (vehicles registered before 2021) nothing changes. When selling the vehicle, the owner fills out the back of the document with the buyer’s data, recognizes a signature in the registry and, finally, the buyer goes to Detran to make the transfer.
The procedure only changes for registered vehicles from now on. “Detran will only send the CRLV-e, in digital format. The ATPV-e, which was previously blank on the back of the document, will now be issued only when the owner is going to sell the vehicle, ”explains Contran.

The transfer document must be submitted to the DMV, in person or through a digital service channel. With the ATPV-e completed and the security QR code, the buyer must recognize the signature in the registration and make the transfer. Soon, the transfer can be made entirely on digital media. “Transferring a vehicle will be as simple as making a bank transfer, all in the palm of your hand,” promises Carneiro.
