The Corinthians president has not yet sought technicians to replace Coelho

Despite the press conference given by President Andrés Sánchez on September 14, in which he said that coach Coelho was a Corinthians Sub-20 coach and was only provisionally in office, Corinthians have not yet officially sought a manager to replace him.

In this same interview, the president of Timão said that he was looking for a coach, but requested the report by My helm if he had already contacted someone, he responded with an enigmatic “I don’t know.”

The report spoke with people linked to the president and obtained two important pieces of information. The first is that Andrés would only exchange Coelho at this time for a “named” and “experienced” technician. There are currently very few professionals with these characteristics on the market.

The second piece of information, and perhaps the most important, is that, contrary to what was said at the press conference, Andrés does want to give Coelho the opportunity to show his work. If it is working, it will stay for as long as it takes.

Just remembering that the president’s press conference was one day after the airport episode, when the Corinthians players disembarking from Rio de Janeiro were cursed and threatened by the fans.

When the president said that Coelho was just a “shock absorber” coach, the main objective was to take pressure off the coach. In the two days that followed, the press and the fans focused on who would be the new coach and they “forgot” about the team and Coelho, who trained enough to beat Bahia two days later.

The victory brought reassurance in this busy week, and a further positive result against Sport will make Coelho even more prestigious in office.

Of course, there are names of coaches on the table of the president of Timão. If Coelho is bad, it does not bring results and the management realizes that it needs to change, it will hire.

This list has already included the names of Sylvinho, Dorival Junior and Abel Braga. But all three names are rejected by the president himself. The first two have already rejected the club on other occasions, and the third participated in the 2007 relegation episode, when he made fun of Timão’s fall.

Coelho has zero rejection among the athletes and the support of the fans. Added to the positive results, this is what the president needs to leverage his candidate, Duílio Monteiro Alves, in the November elections.

A contract was discussed with coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, but the possibility of more rejection than approval of the members who voted in the elections weighed against the possibility.

Meanwhile, Dyego Coelho works in peace and has the “chance of a lifetime” to become the soccer coach of the professional team.
