The cold front causes rains in the south and southeast; heat wave continues in part of Brazil | Nature

The heat wave that hit Brazil in recent days with records in several states is expected to continue until this Friday (9), according to the National Meteorological Institute (Inmet).

This Thursday (8), a cold front breaks the atmospheric blockade and decreases temperatures in the south, southeast and part of the Midwest, in addition to causing storms in Santa Catarina, risk of heavy rains in the north of Rio Grande do Sul and blowing in Paraná.

The arrival of the cold front should also cause instability and rain in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Espírito Santo, especially in the afternoon and at night.

The humidity of the Amazon region causes storms in the Amazon and part of that humidity must be able to pass south, causing isolated blows in the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.

The alert for the danger of death from hyperthermia issued by Inmet on Monday (5) for parts of the Midwest and Southeast, in addition to areas of the state of Tocantins, remains in effect until this Thursday or Friday (9), depending on the location.

Hyperthermia is the condition characterized by an increase in body temperature when the body produces (fever) or absorbs more heat than it can dissipate.

  • Avoid sun exposure during the hottest hours of the day.
  • Use a skin moisturizer and moisten the environment.
