The building that partially collapsed in Betim was condemned by the city’s Civil Defense during an inspection this Wednesday morning (18) and must be demolished by the owner.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Walfrido, Betim’s Civil Defense coordinator, there is no chance of saving the property. The building was in an apparently fair condition and there were no complaints about it.
The information reports that, upon learning of the collapse, the owner of the company would have been ill and had been hospitalized. The man was not found by Itatiaia.
Retired families
The residents of the building, which was under construction on Avenida Ayrton Senna, in the Ponte Alta neighborhood, still do not know when they will be able to return home.
In total, 15 families were left homeless due to the risk of the building collapsing. A house was hit in the early hours of this Wednesday.
Neighbors and the city are helping neighbors.
