The body of the man who fell into a waterfall while taking a selfie is found

After two days of searching, yesterday afternoon the body of the 52-year-old man was found who fell into the stream of the Troia waterfall, over the Lambari River, in Bom Despacho (MG), 156 km from Belo Horizonte. The victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was born in the city of Contagem (MG).

According to the CBMMG (Minas Gerais Military Fire Department), the victim’s wife reported that her husband was trying to take a selfie from the top of the waterfall when he became unbalanced and fell into the water, being swept away by the current.

Firefighters were called by the victim’s wife shortly after the accident and searched about 10 km under the river throughout Thursday (7) and yesterday morning.

Around 2:30 pm, the military managed to locate the man’s body. The corporation did not give details of where the body was or its condition.

Troia is a popular place for tourists to Minas Gerais for its natural attractions. The photos of the beauties of the place are widely shared by social networks, mainly images of the Lambari River.
