The searches for Father Adriano da Silva Barros, 36, who had been missing since yesterday in Minas Gerais, ended with a tragic end. Tonight he was found dead in the city of Manhumirim (MG), about 18 km from Reduto (MG), where he had been seen for the last time.

The PM (Military Police) confirmed to the Twitter that the priest’s body was found charred after a resident triggered the PM by a small fire on his land and because he saw a body there.

Also according to the corporation, the body showed signs of injuries that may have been caused by stab wounds. The identification that he was Father Adriano was made by his brothers.

The prime minister will hear today from two suspects, who were seen by witnesses near the crime scene, as part of the job of obtaining information about the crime. The motivation is still unknown.

Father Adriano’s vehicle was seen by the Federal Highway Police while passing through the city of Teresópolis, in Rio de Janeiro, but it has not yet been definitively located.

The parish priest Júlio César of the São Simão Church, in Simonésia (MG), told the Twitter that Adriano went to visit his mother in the city of Martins Soares and had been seen for the last time in Reduto, where he left his sister in the early afternoon.

Father Júlio César even published a video asking for information about the whereabouts of his colleague.
