Everyone wants to know in the Bitcoin community when the date is discussed halve, an event expected and discussed by many in the last days. The event will be soon, and while it doesn’t have an exact date, some sites can help track the exact time.
The event is on the rise because four years have passed since the last half of Bitcoin. This event tends to happen on average, every four years. However, to happen, the halving does not measure time according to the Christian calendar, but according to the generation of blocks in the network.
This Sunday, for example, Bitcoin is mining seven blocks on the network every hour (60 minutes). That is, in the ten-hour period, Bitcoin will have generated about 70 valid blocks on its network, taking into account the current rate. This rate, however, is not a constant.
It should be noted that the network is rapidly producing blocks, above the normal 6 blocks per hour. The reason is that the hash rate has seen a record increase this weekend. With that, halving could be done “ahead of time.”
The best sites to countdown until Bitcoin’s halving occurs
Everyone talks about halving how important and valuable Bitcoin can be, but they don’t mention ways to follow it live. To monitor the progress of halving, some sites report a countdown timer Until now.
The Brazilian community has created two relevant accountants so far. One of them was bitcoinhalving, created by the BitcoinTrade broker. Another is to halve, which was built by Bloco.
Also, there are English options to accompany half of Bitcoin and one of them is bitcoinblockhalf. Another tool that is closely followed by Bitcoin analysts, coin.dance has also created a halving counter.
Other people may prefer to follow the block’s scouts, because when the 630 thousand block is found, the block’s reward will have dropped to 6.25 BTC. In other words, fewer bitcoins can be bought and spent, with only about 2 million remaining, a rare coin with an ending.
But then when is it going to happen, what’s the half date?
If you look closely, you will see that all the sites we list offer different dates and times for the famous event. With that, it is clear that the information is very difficult to measure and practically depends on the hash rate that is generated, which could accelerate or delay the halving event.
At this point, the best place to track Bitcoin’s halving and its countdown is by analyzing the height of the block being mined through block explorers or even by its own Bitcoin node.
If you find it difficult to make the suggestion in the last paragraph, the websites mentioned above, for the countdown, will help you not to go blank from now on. If you have a better suggestion than the one we mentioned, be sure to comment below.
