The suspect of shooting 24-year-old gunman Daniel Pereira dos Santos was arrested last night after an argument in a market in Itapema, on the north coast of Santa Catarina.

The 38-year-old man had been hiding in the house of a friend in Arapongas, in the state of Paraná, since Monday (22), when he allegedly fired at least four shots at the victim. He was arrested last night with the help of the Paraná police.

According to the Civil Police of Santa Catarina, the crime occurred in the Alto São Bento neighborhood on the 22nd, hours after the merchant refused to serve customers who were without a protective mask against Covid-19, in disagreement with the state sanitary decrees.

“Before the crime, three people went to the store and bought alcoholic beverages. They would have tried to enter without protective equipment, but the merchant warned them that it was forbidden to remain in the place without protection. After the purchase, the group left, but he returned later and stayed in front of the place, crowded. The victim complained about the behavior of the criminals and, at that moment, the discussion began ”, informed the delegate Diogo Medeiros.

The operation that arrested the suspect in Daniel’s death was supported by the Paraná Civil Police and the 7th CIA Military Police. After the arrest, the suspect is transferred today to the Itapema Police Station for judicial processing.

Still according to the Police, the suspect already came to answer for another murder crime in 2014, but was acquitted.

The police are still looking for the other two involved in the crime and the perpetrator must answer for the crime of murder.
