Three people were arrested; teenager involved in crime told police he used stolen cash from the ATM to pay for an app run and buy drugs

A 19-year-old man died after being shot inside a supermarket in the Tupi neighborhood, in the northern region of Belo Horizonte, on Tuesday night (22). Erivelton Lima Gomes was working on the search when two thieves arrived and one of them fired, without the victim showing any kind of reaction.

According to the report of the Military Police, the team was summoned in the commercial premises located on Rua Lúcia Miguel Pereira. The images from the security cameras showed all the action. Gomes was serving other clients when the criminals appeared.

From the images, even as it appears in the police file, the young man could not open the cash register and, at that moment, one of the thieves was excited.

Gomes was hit in the chest, he helped him to the Risoleta Tolentino Neves Hospital, where he went to the operating room, but could not resist the injury. Through the images, the military managed to identify one of the perpetrators, a minor under 17 years old, and the address in which he was hiding, in the Jardim Atlântico neighborhood, in the Pampulha region.

At the scene, the couple was found in the supermarket. The property belongs to the mother of a 29-year-old man, who allegedly gave the gun to the couple.

Motorcycle thefts

In conversation with police, the man said he gave the teenager a 32-caliber revolver so he could steal three motorcycles. As a reward, the boy could have the gun. However, as the minor had not complied with the crimes, he would have to surrender his weapons on Wednesday (23). Conversations through messages exchanged between the two show that the boy had already taken a photo of a motorcycle that was at the door of the supermarket.

In the house there was also an 18-year-old young man, the one who would have shot Gomes. The man even confessed to the crime, according to police, but denied involvement after the police report was closed.

The stolen money was used to buy drugs and pay to run an application

The couple fled the supermarket carrying bottles of drinks and cash from the cashier. The total amount seized was not reported, but the teenager said that he paid an application to escape, bought drugs and left R $ 60.

The trio was sent to the Office for Guidance and Protection of Children and Adolescents (Dopcad).
