Civil Police investigates the case after complaints from women on social networks
The Minas Gerais Civil Police (PCMG) investigates allegations of harassment and rape against the owner of a clothing store in Belo Horizonte. In recent days there have been complaints by women on social networks against the suspect, owner of Ana Modas, located in UAI Shopping. By note, the PCMG stated that the victims who registered the incident are already being heard. The suspect denies it and says it is “baseless and defamatory.”
The friend of one of the victims denounced the abuse suffered by her on Twitter and, after the case was released, at least four other women reported having been victims of the man they identified as Cleidson dos Santos Fernandes.
Regarding the case of the @LOJASANAMODAS store, I already have several reports of women, both clients, as well as old and employed influencers who were harassed and raped by their owner! There are 1,2,3 .. they are VARIOUS!

On the 26th, the student María Eduarda Amaral made a report on her Instagram profile denouncing the harassment suffered by a friend and, according to her, she received more than 20 similar stories after the publication. Among the store’s victims, employees, customers, and potential advertising partners.
A 19-year-old former employee who declined to be identified reported to the report that while working at the store between April and June 2019, still a minor, the suspect repeatedly harassed her. “Several times at the end of the day when the stores in the mall were already closed and there was little movement, he chased me on the second floor of the mall, where the bathroom is, pressed me against the cubicle trying to kiss me, pulling my hair , holding my face. However, he did all this as if it were a joke, “he says.
A colleague who had worked at the store for years told him to “relax”, saying that he did it with everyone at first and that over time he would get tired and stop “nagging”. But that did not happen, on the contrary, the situation worsened, with Fernandes allegedly even showing the sexual organ to the then employee and asking him to perform oral sex. “Thank God, there was always something that prevented him from continuing, someone or something came. Otherwise, today I would be more a victim of rape and not just harassment, “he reports.
Not understanding the situation at the time, he did not file a police report, but intends to do so now. “At that time, I was 17 years old and had never been in a bullying situation, so I did not understand the seriousness of the situation as I do today,” says the victim.
Fernandes’ lawyer, Renata Jaconi, issued a note in which she said that “the Ana Modas store, as well as its owner, vehemently repudiate the baseless and frivolous accusations, and in the end they will prove the veracity of the facts, their innocence and suitability . The report was unable to contact the suspect.
The note from the Civil Police reinforces the importance that victims of harassment and rape always go to the Specialized Police Station for Women, at Avenida Barbacena, 288, Barro Preto, so that the appropriate measures are taken as soon as possible.
The Ana Modas store at Uai Shopping, in downtown Belo Horizonte, has been closed for a few days, according to merchants who work there.
A store clerk with Fernandes comments that “everyone has heard of him. There was a case of a customer making a fuss inside the store, yelling that he was going to call the police for him ”.
According to Uai Group legal director Bernard Martins, the mall’s management never received complaints from customers or employees about the grocer and only learned of the harassment reports from the press. “We hope that everything clears up. It is a very old store, well established, one of the busiest in the mall. The vast majority of customers are women and we never received any complaints. It is a situation that surprises us, ”he said.
Ana Modas’s store has been in operation for at least five years and, despite being currently closed, it has not been delivered. According to Martins, the suspect has not yet contacted management to discuss the complaints. “We are ready to contribute with the investigations,” concluded the legal director.
