The movement of emergency aid resources through the Caixa Econômica Federal digital social savings account has undergone changes. This is because the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), which defines new rules for the use of personal information by individuals.
Initially, the beneficiaries had up to 90 days to transfer the R $ 600 and R $ 300 aid. If the money was not used within this period, the amount would be returned to the public coffers.
With the change, users now have up to 180 days (six months) to withdraw, transfer, or use benefit resources to pay bills. The extension of the term was proposed by the deputy Damião Feliciano (PTB-BA), who is also the rapporteur of the provisional measure of the Data Law.
About LGPD
Law No. 13,709 / 18 provides for the protection of personal data, including in digital media, in order to protect the fundamental rights of freedom and privacy of users. Given that emergency aid deposits are made digitally, through the Caixa Tem application, the movement of funds is also part of the new regulations.
Thus, with the extension of emergency aid until the end of the year, which guarantees up to four additional payments in the amount of R $ 300, the beneficiaries who continue to meet the program requirements will be able to handle the last installment until June 2021.
Other changes to the new law
In addition to increasing the deadline for processing emergency aid, the text of the Data Law also provides for other changes. In accordance with current legislation, Caixa and Banco do Brasil must transfer the amounts to the active accounts of the beneficiary.
If you are not a savings account holder, a digital social savings account must be automatically opened in your name to receive assistance.
The text also announces the tender to contract these two banks to operate the payment of benefits in the emergency mode. This must occur within a maximum period of 10 days after the Ministry of Economy sends the information.
