State-owned companies gained strength and recovered part of the losses of recent days, shows a survey conducted by Economic Sciences.

Only this Tuesday, the companies added R $ 39.6 billion in gains in market value. THE Eletrobras (ELET3;ELET5;ELET6) took off by 10.81%, while Petrobras (PETR3;PETR4) were up 12.17% and common shares were up 8.96%.

THE Bank of Brazil (BBAS3), another hit by the crisis of political interference Bolsonaro government, jumped 6.92%, to R $ 30.43.

Despite the recovery, companies still have a few billions to go to return to the level of last Wednesday, one day before Jair Bolsonaro made a direct criticism of the president of Petrobras, Roberto Castello Branco.

The companies accumulate a loss of R $ 78.1 billion since the 18th, considering the profits of this Tuesday.

Numbers

Petrobras is the most affected company, with a fall of R $ 28.2 billion on 19, R $ 74.2 billion on 22 and a recovery of R $ 28.9 billion today. As a result, it accumulated a fall of R $ 73.4 billion from February 18 to 23.

Eletrobras grew by R $ 4.8 billion from February 18 to 23. It fell R $ 618 million on the 19th and R $ 272 million on the 22nd. It earned R $ 5.73 billion this Tuesday.

BB lost R $ 1.79 billion on the 19th and R $ 10.8 billion on the 22nd and recovered R $ 4.56 billion on February 23, a negative balance of R $ 8 billion.

Recalling that the fall registered in Petrobras last Monday was the second largest since the Real Plan, only being surpassed by the decline in the markets due to the crisis of the coronavirus.

Eletrobras privatization

One of the reasons that excited the markets was the progress of the privatization of Eletrobras.

Before, the mayor, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), said Tuesday night that the interim measure which deals with the capitalization of Eletrobras (ELET3) will appear on the House plenary agenda next week, after he and the President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (DEM-MG), have received the text from the president Jair bolsonaro.

“The Chamber will begin the discussion of this provisional measure very quickly, already scheduled for next week in the plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies,” said Lira, who was the last to speak in a quick statement to the press with other authorities.
