In a three-goal match, Sport beat Goiás 2-1 on Sunday night (6), in Ilha do Retiro, for the Brazilian Championship. The goals of the Pernambuco team were scored by Leandro Barcia and Marquinhos. Elton, against, was the only one of the Goiás team in the match.
With the victory, Sport won the second consecutive win and reached 10 points in the Brasileirão, occupying the ninth position in the table. Goiás, on the other hand, lost one more under the command of Tiago Larghi and remains in the spotlight, with just four points.
Now, Goiás and Sport return to the field for Brasileirão next Wednesday (9), at 6pm. The Pernambuco team travels to the capital of Ceará to face Fortaleza in Castelão, while Goiás hosts Coritiba in Goiânia.
The best: Leandro Barcia
The entry of Barcia, a former Goiás player, left Sport much more effective and dangerous in the attack field. He created spaces, annoyed the opposing defense and proved to be attentive when he followed the play that opened the scoring for Sport until the end. The forward was a great option ahead for the Leon.
Worst: Elton
Contested by the crowd, Elton didn’t play a good game tonight. In addition to appearing little as an option up front, he scored the goal that made Sport have to run again after the scoreboard after getting ahead of the scoreboard.
The sport creates more and stops at the defenses of Tadeu
Playing at home, Jair Ventura’s team seemed comfortable and managed to create good situations to open the scoring at Ilha do Retiro. The first was a good move by Marquinhos. To the left of Leão’s attack, the ball was left by Iago Maidana, who finished off with a great defense from the Goiás goalkeeper, then Jonatan Gómez risked from outside for another good intervention by Tadeu.
Despite the fact that Sport had a greater volume of chances in the first stage, the best was from Goiás, Vinicius received a pass inside the area and, facing the goal, he was hampered by a great tackle from Adryelson and ended up finishing.
Barcia opens the scoring, Goiás goes to the game and reaches a draw
In the second half, Sport continued better in the first minutes and stayed more with the ball than Goiás, who still fell back. At 14 minutes, Luciano Juba won the mark and crossed into the area. The ball was long and it seemed that it was going to go to goal, but Leandro Barcia believed in the play and managed to finish the goal, opening the scoring for Leão.
At a disadvantage, Goiás began to score the ball more effectively and explore the spaces left by Sport’s defense, creating at least two chances. The change of position took effect and Esmeraldino leveled with a goal against Elton from a corner kick.
The game heats up and the sport takes the lead again
With the Goiás draw, the game improved. The two teams began to attack, seek the game and explore spaces in the opposing defenses, with the ball on the ground and offensive plots. Sport again reached the second goal from the side of the field: this time, right-back Patric advanced and crossed for Marquinhos to complete the goal, giving the victory to the Pernambuco team.
