Victim of the brewery Supporter, Professor Cristiano Mauro Assis Gomes, from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), will receive a kidney from his wife, Flvia Schayer, this Tuesday morning (29). The transplant will be performed at the Felcio Rocho Hospital, in the Center-South of BH, and it is necessary so that you do not need to undergo further hemodialysis.
Cristiano returned to a hospital after spending more than 70 days at Biocor, in Nova Lima, Grande BH. With practically no movement in his face, he weighed 120 kilos due to the difficulties of kidneys to filter the chemical found in dozens of batches of Backer beer from diethylene glycol damage.
The most contaminated label, precisely the one that Cristiano Mauro Assis Gomes consumed the most: Belorizontina.
“I thought it would be better to die. THE pain terrible. unbearable. I do not wish anyone from the company what I happened, “said the victim when he was discharged from Biocor in March.
“When I found out it was the beer, I thought, ‘This is Brazil. So the second feeling was that we need to change this country. Insensitive entrepreneurs who only think of profit. We need to make a critical private life. How are we doing in capitalism? We need ethics. The examples are terrible, ”he said.
Cristiano took about 30 bottles of Belorizontina throughout the month of December. On November 30, he had already consumed seven at a party at a friend’s house and was ill.
After that, he drank about one a night the following month. On December 21, he consumed approximately five bottles and did not feel well for the next several days.
The day before Christmas he was admitted to the Biocor Hospital. Hemodialysis began just on the date the birth of Christ is celebrated.
Four days later, the family drama increased when Cristiano entered the CTI, where he remained for 44 days. The neurological symptoms began on January 1.

According to the Public Ministry, the Backer case left 10 dead and 16 people with serious health problems.
The Civil Police investigation ended with 11 defendants: a witness who lied; the maintenance manager, by default; six technicians responsible for homicide, culpable personal injury and for acting with fault in the contamination; and, finally, three directors of Backer charged with acts in post-production.
At the beginning of the month, the MP denounced 10 people from the Justice, among Backer’s partner-owners and technical officials.
