São Paulo has developed a strategy to act on the issue related to the Refereeing Commission of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), chaired by former referee Leonardo Gaciba. The soccer executive, Raí, and the department manager, Alexandre Bird, have the task of discussing the case of Pablo’s disallowed goal in the 1-1 draw with Ceará, last Wednesday (25), at stake. postponed the 16th round of the Brasileirão.

As the superintendent of international relations Diego Lugano has a bad record with arbitration, the pair is the one that anticipates confrontations with the entity due to possible arbitration errors. They, for example, tried to keep in touch with CBF yesterday (26) to see the video and listen to the audio of the VAR during the tender.

Leonardo Gaciba, however, had his cell phone turned off all day, making it impossible for the couple to speak to the chairman of the CBF Arbitration Commission. Even before the statement of the entity, the couple tried to keep in touch with the former referee, who did not respond to messages via WhatsApp and did not speak of the case through phone calls.

During the incessant attempts to contact Gaciba, the Tricolor soccer department received a suggestion from the CBF to speak with Secretary General Walter Feldman for a peaceful solution.

Without advancing discussions on the case with those responsible for arbitration, São Paulo adopted a position to discuss a decision internally. Members of the soccer and legal departments talk to define the possibility of taking action to challenge the game.

There was still no consensus behind the scenes in Morumbi. The club has until today (27), at 10:29 p.m. (Brasilia time) -48 hours after the publication of the minutes-, to file a lawsuit in the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) requesting the cancellation of the game .

São Paulo alleges a legal error in a play to annul Pablo’s goal, in the match played on Wednesday night (25), at the Arena Castelão. In the episode questioned by the club, assistant Thiago Rosa de Oliveira (RJ) pointed out the forward’s irregular position. The referee Wagner do Nascimento Magalhães (Fifa / RJ), however, confirmed the goal when he was notified by the VAR, led by Carlos Eduardo Nunes Braga (RJ), with the help of William Machado Steffen (SC) and Daniel do Espirito Santo Parro (RJ).

The problem is that the same VAR was corrected and canceled the offer. During the process that lasted 4 minutes and 35 seconds, the referee even authorized the restart of the game with the validated São Paulo goal. Yesterday, the CBF itself acknowledged the communication error.
