As it prepares to announce plans to reopen the country after the new coronavirus pandemic, Spain reported the lowest number of deaths from covid-19 in more than 30 days on Tuesday.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, 301 people died in the country in the last 24 hours, something that has not happened since March 22. And, for the first time since the start of the state of emergency, there was a drop compared to Monday’s balance sheet, which traditionally has lower numbers than other days due to a delay in weekend notifications.

As a result, the total number of covid-19 victims in Spain increased to 23,822. In addition, 1,308 other people have been diagnosed with the disease across the country in the past 24 hours. Since the start of the pandemic, 210,773 Spaniards have tested positive for the virus.
The figures were released before the government announced a plan to relax the measures imposed after the state of emergency declaration on March 13. The country has already partially relaxed the quarantine against the virus, one of the strictest in Europe. Civil construction and part of the industry have already been authorized to resume their activities.
In recent days, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has allowed outings with children, who have been home for more than six weeks.
