The family of young Gustavo Neves de Aguiar, 20, learned this weekend that he was found dead in a garbage bag on October 31 on the side of a highway in Bertioga, on the coast of São Paulo. The information is from G1.
According to his family, Gustavo had been missing since August 27. Before leaving home, he reportedly told his grandmother that he would “collect a debt.”
To G1, the young man’s aunt, Silvana Araujo dos Santos, said that during the period in which Gustavo was disappeared, the relatives received several false information. “They said they had arrested him, that they had found him there. But we kept looking, we went to police stations, IML, hospitals and nothing, “he said.
Also according to the family, the disappearance complaint was not registered until September 5. The discovery that Gustavo’s body had been found only came after family members came into contact with a funeral home.
“We confirmed some details of Gustavo with a body that had been buried without a name some time ago. The tattoos matched. Then he directed me to the IML in Praia Grande, where the body had passed. We went there and identified ourselves from photos. It was him, ”Silvana told G1.
The body was buried without identification
According to the police, the victim was found undocumented and showed signs of a perforation in the neck. The body was sent to the Praia Grande Medical Legal Institute (IML) and buried in the Bertioga cemetery the day after the meeting without identification.
In a note to G1, the Civil Police explained that the immediate location of the family was not possible, because when the body was found there was no police report that matched the characteristics of the victim.
Still according to the police, the body was sent to the IML for dental and digital examinations, so that information could be obtained that could help in this identification. However, the family looked for IML before a positive cross-data result.
