Vaccination against covid-19 in the state of São Paulo, which began today, will continue at 7 am on Monday (18) at the Hospital das Clínicas in the capital of São Paulo. Health professionals who are at the forefront of the fight against the disease will be vaccinated.

Just over a hundred people have already received the immunizer today, shortly after Anvisa approved CoronaVac for emergency use, including nurse Mônica Calazans, the first person to be vaccinated in the country.

The Minister of Health, General Eduardo Pazuello, reaffirmed today that the national vaccination plan will begin next Wednesday (20), at 10 am.

30 thousand HC health professionals

OR HC de São Paulo made a warehouse available to vaccinate the 30,000 hospital employees this week, starting tomorrow. The campaign will take place at the Rebouças Convention Center, attached to the hospital, where 30 vaccination posts will be located, which will operate 12 hours a day, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The schedule previously announced by the government, which provided dates for seniors and other groups, is no longer valid at this time. That is, it is not yet time to go to the vaccination posts.

According to the São Paulo government, health professionals at the Hospital das Clínicas complex will be summoned at separate times to avoid crowds. Each person will receive a dose of the vaccine and, at 21 days, the second dose, closing the complete immunization.

Anvisa also approved the emergency use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, developed by the University of Oxford with Fiocruz. But there is still no dose of the immunizer in Brazil.

Distribution to hospitals in the interior

Tomorrow morning, dozens of refrigerated trucks will leave the headquarters of the Butantan Institute, in São Paulo, to distribute doses, syringes and needles to start vaccination in the Hospitals of the Clinics of Ribeirão Preto, Campinas, Botucatu, Marília and the Hospital from Base de São. José do Rio Preto.

These units were chosen to receive the doses because they register the highest flows of patients with covid-19 in the state. In total, 60,000 employees should be vaccinated during the week, according to the state government.

Also on Monday, doses of CoronaVac and supplies will be sent to the regional redistribution centers to the state mayors, so that each municipality continues with the vaccination of its health professionals and members of indigenous communities.

The government also says that the immunization campaign will be carried out in accordance with the availability of vaccine shipments from the Ministry of Health.

The São Paulo State Department of Health should send, still this Sunday (17), 4,636,936 doses of CoronaVac to the other states of Brazil, according to the Butantan Institute, which produces the vaccine. The institute must leave 1,357,640 doses in SP.
