The Secretary of Health of São Paulo, Jean Gorinchteyn, announced on Friday (11) new restrictive measures to stop the increase in cases of infection and deaths from the new coronavirus. Restaurants can still remain open until 10 pm, with a capacity of 40%, with services offered to seated customers and tables only for groups of up to six people. In these places, the sale of alcoholic beverages can also be made until 8:00 p.m.

The restriction measures begin to take effect as of this Saturday (12). “These are small adjustments that prevent the spread of the virus. In addition to the leisure restrictions, Gorinchteyn announced measures for the health sector. “We will make an investment of R $ 100 million per month in more than 2,000 beds that would be used for other diseases to provide adequate assistance. The director of the Health Surveillance Center, María Cristina Megid, said that from tomorrow inspection measures will also be strengthened. “We have carried out 110,000 inspections and 1,200 warnings so far. According to a state government survey, between March and November, the age group that corresponded to the highest demand for covid-19 beds was between 55 and 75 years old. In the last three weeks, the 30-50 age group has become the majority in demand for beds. “Young people can also die from covid-19,” Gorinchteyn said.
