The São Paulo government will begin vaccinating public security and education professionals in April in the state. Education professionals to be vaccinated include teachers, school principals, student inspectors, and other professionals who work in high school day care centers. 350 thousand people from this group will be immunized.
Since the last day 15, the São Paulo state school system has been in early school recess for two weeks, which runs until next Sunday (28). The determination came along with the beginning of the emergency phase in the state, in which only essential activities can function, but even these have restrictions.
In the capital, Mayor Bruno Covas (PSDB) determined the school recess for two days later, starting on the 17th. The measure is valid in the city until April 5.
In municipal networks throughout the state, municipalities have the autonomy to decide whether or not to adopt the school recess. The vast majority do not have face-to-face classes at the moment, keeping only distance education if they have not adopted early recess.
Anticipation of the elderly
For the next stage of vaccination of the elderly, the government of São Paulo also announced a new anticipation. The immunization of people between 69 and 71 years old, which was originally scheduled for the 29th, was already scheduled for next Saturday (27). Now, the stage will start on Friday (26).
Despite the announcement made by Doria, the calendar is only a suggestion made by the state government to the municipalities, which have the autonomy to define their own dates for each phase.
