In an interview with O Globo, the singer Fagner criticized President Jair Bolsonaro (without a party) and the way the government official in office has been behaving.
Asked about how he sees the Bolsonaro government, the singer fired: “Bolsonaro’s performance is ridiculous. Nobody needs to listen to the madness of which he speaks, but peace. You have to work for Brazil. The way he behaves is not that of a president. I want you to rule! I was never a PT. But I already voted for Lula. Even when he was affiliated with the PSDB. We had a close relationship. But we are all disappointed ”.
Fagner also spoke about how he met Jair and what he said to the president when he defeated PT Fernando Haddad in the elections. “In the last election, some friends printed Haddad’s decals on me and it was a disaster. Then I made a video declaring my support for Bolsonaro. I met him on the plane. He photographed with me saying it was for the woman, but posted on Instagram. I was like … He wanted me to come down with him in a show that was waiting for him. I said I was engaged to Ciro Gomes. The day Bolsonaro won I said: “Now, you are the president, take care of Brazil.” I was never with him again. I sang the National Anthem in possession of (Luiz) Fux (Federal Supreme Court), and Bolsonaro barely looked at me. I don’t care much, ”he recalled.
The singer ended the criticism by saying that he does not approve of the way Bolsonaro dominates Brazil. “I do not approve of the way he leads the country. It seems that you are experiencing a flare, a psychologist could help (laughs). I respect Tarcísio (Gomes de Freitas), Minister of Infrastructure; for Paulo Guedes, there is no way not to remove his hat. But this debauchery with which Bolsonaro addresses the nation is unacceptable. I don’t believe what you say.
