The registration of the Pix key has started and has already started in several institutions. Although registration is not required, it further simplifies transactions.
Pix begins operations on November 16 throughout Brazil. As of November 3, some customers will have the service available in the trial phase. The Central Bank expects Pix to be a great substitute for DOC and TED as it is free and instant.
In addition to making transactions at any day and time, it is estimated that they will be completed in 10 seconds.
How to register the Pix key?
To use Pix, it is necessary to have a checking account, a savings account or a digital wallet suitable for the new system. The option appears in the banking or internet banking application, as well as with DOC and TED.
The Pix key will link all the basic information of the customer with the complete data. Upon entering the password, the account details will appear automatically at the time of the transaction. Then you just have to check the ID and the values before committing and completing the operation.
There are four types of Pix keys that can be registered and used: CPF or CPNJ number, email, cell phone number or EVP. EVP is a 32-digit alphanumeric string. Upon request, it will be sent by the Central Bank to the institution. It allows you to create a QR code and eliminates the need to inform a stranger by phone, email or CPF / CNPJ.
Know the limits of the value of transactions.
The rule established by the Central Bank establishes that the limits cannot be lower than those offered for payment instruments with characteristics similar to Pix’s, such as TED. According to the BC, limits can be created if the institution considers it necessary to prevent “money laundering and terrorist financing” and to avoid “risks of fraud and infringement”.
The limits chosen by the institutions depend on:
- Previous registration of the recipient’s transactional account;
- Pix is scheduled;
- The service channel used by who will pay;
- The recipient’s account is the same as the recipient’s account;
- The form of authentication of those who pay;
- Any other criteria to be defined by the institution.
Remember that the Pix key, created to further simplify the transfer process, is not mandatory. The key, which can be registered starting today, is optional.
