The emergency aid of R $ 600 to informal workers that the federal government made available for retirement starting this Thursday (9) caused queues in cities across the country in the early morning. Aid is one of the measures to combat the economic effects of the new coronavirus pandemic.

The agglomerations were registered both in units of the Federal Income for the regularization of CPF and in places of retirement, contrary to the recommendations of social isolation and the guidelines of the government agencies on the benefit.

This was the second day of queues caused by emergency aid. On Wednesday, potential beneficiaries gathered near the federal revenue units of Belém and Recife.

Caixa Econômica Federal launched, on Tuesday (7), a website and an application to request assistance, but many people still face problems, with irregular CPF. The benefit is granted only after regular registration, performed by the IRS.

Beneficiaries needing to regularize the CPF were advised by the IRS to complete the process through the website, by email, or by request. Visits to face-to-face care units should only be made in cases where they cannot be resolved at home. Some income units operate with reduced hours and number of employees.

In Fortaleza, a crowd of informal workers and others interested in applying for emergency aid formed a large crowd early in the morning on a line surrounding the Federal Revenue headquarters in Fortaleza. The concentration of people began on Wednesday night (9), but it is prohibited by the state decree in force in Ceará since March 20.
