Vitória and Serra will be, as of next Monday (7), classified as low risk for Covid-19, which further facilitates the activities that can be carried out in the municipalities. With a contingent of almost 900 thousand inhabitants – the cities are among the most populated in Espírito Santo – there will be no more time restrictions in the establishments that are authorized to operate.
The favorable decision of the Justice to the State is only eight days old, but it was enough time for both Vitória and Serra to reach the indicators of the new Covid-19 matrix and be classified in the lowest level of risk of the threat and vulnerability axes . , freeing up bars and ending the opening hours limit of other establishments.
On the axis of “threat”, the number of active cases (people who can transmit the disease) in the last 28 days and the tests per thousand inhabitants each weigh 30% in the analysis. The death rate, 40%. The “vulnerability” axis considers the occupancy rate of potential ICU beds in the State, which currently stands at 54% and is already close to 90%.
PERFORMANCE
In this context, Colonel Alexandre dos Santos Cerqueira, Commander of the Fire Department, who participates in the writing of the matrix, lists the performance of Vitória and Serra so that they leave the risk moderate for the low.
Regarding active cases and tests per thousand inhabitants, each one of the municipalities presented indicators that classified them with a mild threat level. At the 14-day moving average of deaths, the threat was rated moderate for both. In the capital, there were 11 deaths in the last two weeks, resulting in an average of 0.79. In Serra, there were 16 deaths, or an indicator of 1.14. In the balance of all the results, the two municipalities managed to enter the lowest level of risk.
The data were presented at dawn this Friday (4) by Colonel Cerqueira, in a speech to Governor Renato Casagrande, who stressed: “low risk is not absence of risk. What can happen, what is released, is Activities during normal hours. There is no restriction on the opening hours of shops, restaurants, bars, but everything has to be within the protocol that has already been established. “
This means, as Casagrande points out, the need to maintain distance in establishments and in queues, wearing a mask when leaving home, reinforcing hygiene measures.
