The police requested the support of the firefighters and three teams were deployed. At the scene, a factory official informed the military that a relief valve in one of the tanks had broken. Still according to the corporation, the worker reported that “its non-operation caused the explosion in the upper part of the tank, hitting and damaging two other nearby tanks.”

Also according to firefighters, an opening caused by excess pressure that broke the structure was confirmed. The tanks, according to the military, function as beer storage silos in some of the stages of the process, but which one was not reported.

The employees were removed from the site, only the brigade members remained and there was no risk of fire. “The place of the accident was isolated and the military gathered information from the person in charge of the area and the occupational safety technician. They explained that the carbon dioxide (CO2) injection process is found in the tanks in question and the valve failure would have It caused the accident due to the excess pressure inside the tank.
