The fifth victim of femicide this week was Judge Viviane Vieira do Amaral Arronenzi, from Rio. Her ex-husband stabbed her to death in front of the three daughters.

Viviane was 45 years old, had been a judge since 2005 and worked in the 24th Civil Court of the capital. Paulo José Arronenzi, 52, is an engineer and has been unemployed for 6 years. They met in 2009, got married and spent 11 years together. They had 3 daughters and separated last August.

On September 14, Viviane went to the police station and made a record of personal injuries and threats against her ex-husband. That day he pushed her away and told her that he was going to kill her. The judge requested a protection measure and Paulo was prohibited from meeting or contacting his ex-wife. Viviane began walking with an escort, requested by the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice, but in November she resigned from security.

Last Thursday (24), Viviane went with her daughters to look for her ex-husband. The girls were going to spend Christmas with their father. He set up a meeting point on a little-traveled street in Barra da Tijuca, Rio’s West Zone. When Viviane got out of the car, she received the first knife blow. In all there were 16 stab wounds and the judge was killed instantly.

After killing Viviane, Paulo was arrested, but said he will only testify in court. Responsible for the crime of femicide.

Fantastic interviewed a couple who helped children at the scene of the murder. And also a friend of the judge, who received a loving message from Viviane shortly before the crime.
