422 thousand retirees and insured from the INSS (National Institute of Social Security) have already started receiving extra money. INSS began paying for the eighth batch of the Article 29 review, also known as the aid review. According to the INSS, the money has already been deposited in the account of 422,000 beneficiaries. 500 million have been released.

Arrears, divided into ten lots, are paid annually and are the result of an agreement between INSS, the Federal Public Ministry.

The agreement revised the calculations of the sickness benefits and disability pensions or death pensions resulting from them, awarded between 2002 and 2009. At that time, the benefits had been calculated at 100% of the contribution wages. However, the right thing should have been the provision of the lowest 20% wages to define the average wage value.

Payment is made automatically for those included in the INSS administrative review. To find out if the money has been deposited, the citizen must make the inquiry through telephone exchange 135 or the site meu.inss.gov.br.
