São Paulo Municipal Secretary of Health, Edson Aparecido, said today that he believes the city will reach the highest weekly moving average of confirmed COVID-19 cases this week. The negative record, according to him, should be reached on Thursday: 20 thousand cases.

He also stated that vaccination will be carried out not only in health units, but also in “satellite” points, such as shopping centers.
“We have the entire vaccination structure armed. We have an immunobiological storage center, which stores more than 7 million vaccines. From the moment the vaccines are received from the laboratory, in less than 36 hours, they will be available in our health units. between UBS (Basic Health Unit), UPA (Emergency Care Units) and hospitals, which will be widely publicized to receive vaccination, and we will have 500 satellite points, between shopping centers, churches, markets and drive-thru. School units, in which professionals will be administering the vaccine. We will have 27 thousand people capable of administering 600 thousand daily doses ”, explained the secretary.
Asked about how to avoid crowds or possible confusion about priority groups, he explained that he will use the SUS (Unified Health System) database.
“We currently have 7.5 million dependents of the SUS. They are registered people and will be vaccinated in the units available where they are already treated. We will do our best to avoid overcrowding. And also with information to contain the natural impulse of the person to get vaccinated. And for that, the role of the press is also essential, to inform ”, Aparecido highlighted.
