TO a decision had already been made in a meeting between the State, Alesc and the mayors of the 30 largest cities of Santa Catarina on Tuesday afternoon (23), the same day that the State promised the municipalities a reinforcement of 500 military police officers exclusively for the inspection of sanitary measures against the coronavirus.

Before that, Chapecó had already decreed a night curfew, in addition to the closure of all non-essential services in the city, to stop the contagion curve, which puts pressure on the region’s health network. In the municipality, the strictest rules are valid until 23:59 next Sunday (28).

In addition, Santa Catarina confirmed 71 more deaths from complications of the disease, including two babies under one year of age: one from Florianópolis and another from Quilombo. The total number of fatalities in the state amounts to 7,114, according to the balance released by the State Department of Health (SES) this Wednesday.
