SBT solves problem and regionalizes Libertadores on pay TV

SBT solved this Wednesday (21) one of the problems that generated more complaints from Libertadores viewers on the channel since last month. Silvio Santos’ station will begin to transmit, on pay TV operators, the game planned for the place, and no longer the mere reproduction of the São Paulo signal, as has happened until now. The new initiative is already valid for tonight, for the Flamengo and Palmeiras broadcasts.

The SBT communication area confirmed the information for the sports. Initially, only Sky subscribers will benefit, the second largest in the country, with almost 5 million subscribers.

The report found that, for other operators, there is already negotiation. That is, if you live in Rio de Janeiro and subscribe to Sky, SBT will show Flamengo x Junior Barranquilla – as well as for the rest of the country. In São Paulo, the operator’s subscribers will normally watch the Palmeiras x Tigre duel.

SBT solved the problem for two reasons. The first was the complaint from the public, who subscribed to pay TV operators. There were numerous complaints, mainly from flamenco players, who could not watch the club’s match in the last round due to lack of transmission from the channel there, something that Globo has always done due to the regionalization of its signal – many affiliates carries Net / Claro and Sky.

The second reason also came from SBT’s subsidiaries, mainly in Rio de Janeiro. In the capital of Rio de Janeiro, it was interpreted that the audience for Flamengo’s game in the last round could have been much higher if Sky had shown the game. The expectation is that rates will increase with this division of pay TV channels.

To broadcast Palmeiras and Flamengo, SBT didn’t make many changes to their team. As confirmed by SBT, Palmeiras x Tigre (ARG) begins at 9:15 p.m. with a narration by Teo José and comments by Mauro Beting and Edmílson. The Palmeirense game, which is no longer worth much for the group stage of the competition, will be exhibited only for Greater São Paulo and the rest of the state. The paulistas enter the field already classified for the eighth.

In the rest of the country, SBT will show Flamengo x Junior Barranquilla (COL) with a narration by Luiz Alano, comments by Bernardo Ramos, currently a Band Sports commentator, and Junior Baiano, a flamenco idol from the 90s.

Bernardo Ramos, who works at the Band sports station, was invited and accepted willingly, with no major problems in relation to the vehicle for which he works. SBT also thought, according to the report, on behalf of Vitor Sérgio Rodrigues, Turner’s sportscaster, but the deal has not evolved. It will be the first time that Bernardo Ramos will perform at SBT.

The repetition of Júnior Baiano was considered natural. The former idol defender of Flamengo and Palmeiras was well valued in the broadcast against Júnior Barranquilla for having spoken calmly about the game, without exaggerations or emotions. A large part of the red-black crowd also liked his interventions, which was exemplified in messages on social networks.
