Several readers of “Jornal da Região” sent messages questioning what is “happening” in the skies of Jundiaí, this Sunday night (10). Reader Cida commented: “What are these stars?” The “row” goes from the Eloy Chaves Park to Jardim Santa Gertrudes.
What is happening are satellites launched into space for broadband Internet transmission.
The “phenomenon”, which will be frequent on the planet, is the SpaceX project, of satellites parked at “low altitude”, for use in the future of the global Internet, twice as fast as fiber optics.
The project is by businessman and scientist Elon Musk, owner of SpaceX, who will create the Starlink network with 4,000 satellites strategically positioned to cover the entire planet Earth.
In Jundiaí, several people saw the sequence of lights from the reflected satellites. This is the third time in the year that it is possible to see the “passing” line in the city.
Reports were also made of residents of Jarinu, Itatiba, Várzea Paulista, Campo Limpo Paulista and Cabreúva.
