São Paulo beat Botafogo 4-0 in Morumbi, for the postponed match of the 18th round of the Brazilian Championship. If a resounding victory and isolated leadership were not enough, Tricolor had the best campaign of the first round of the Brasileirão and won the Osmar Santos Trophy.

With 21 points, Fernando Diniz’s team surpassed the International campaigns against Atlético-MG, which closed the first part of the competition, with 19 points won. With the trophy secured, Tricolor achieved its fourth conquest (2006,2007, 2018 and 2020), equaling Corinthians who was the greatest champion (2005, 2011, 2015 and 2017).

It is noteworthy that in the Brasileirão with points in a row, only four times the team that finished with the title did not win the first round – in the other 17, the best set of the first half remained at the top until the end. Grêmio (2008), Internacional (2009), Atlético-MG (2012) and São Paulo (2018), were not Brazilian champions even after winning the first round.
