Santos renewed Lucas Veríssimo’s contract until June 8, 2025. The previous contract was valid until December 2024. The agreement includes a salary increase.
The appreciation came again after frustrated negotiations with European football. In October, Peixe negotiated and did not reach an agreement with Benfica and Porto, from Portugal.
In an interview last Monday, President Orlando Rollo said selling the defender can save Alvinegro.
“The possible salvation of Santos until December could be the sale of a player. And the player that the market likes the most today is Lucas Veríssimo,” Orlando Rollo told the “Canal do Santos FC” program in TV Com.
Santos paid only 40% of October wages. In addition to the remaining 60%, Peixe must pay 45% of the salary cut in the football strike. And there is a debit in three months of image rights, not forgetting the late awards.
With no expected income until the end of the year, Peixe is studying selling players, looking for sponsorships and does not rule out new bank loans or with renowned Santos players, such as Andrés Rueda and Marcelo Teixeira.
