Questioned by the report of the giveSantos’ doctor, Ricardo Galotti, did not rule out the possibility that the deep vein thrombosis in the right leg, diagnosed in Raniel, could be a consequence of Covid-19. The attacker contracted the new coronavirus a month ago.

– It is difficult for us to say that it is related to Covid-19, but this pathology has shown many thromboembolic phenomena and had a thromboembolic phenomenon. Raniel had Covid-19 a month ago, all the tests were done for his return, he was completely normal. And the complications that can occur, a pulmonary embolism and a compartment syndrome, which are serious cases – said Galotti.

– Raniel arrived from Paraguay without any pain and, the next day, in the presentation of the athletes, he began to present a lot of pain in his calf, a very strong hardening in the region. We suspected that he had a deep vein thrombosis, he was taken to the diagnostic center and this pathology was found. At the moment, his condition is stable, he has improved clinically and we hope that he will gradually improve in the coming days – added the doctor.

Raniel will be reevaluated by the vascular doctor at the hospital where he is admitted. If the attacker is released, he will be transferred to Hospital Sírio Libanês, in São Paulo.
