Santos drew 1-1 with Fortaleza tonight (27), in Vila Belmiro, for the 12th round of the Brazilian Championship. The goals were scored by Madson, for Santos, and Gabriel Dias, for Fortaleza.
With the tie, Santos and Fortaleza reached 17 and 16 points, respectively, and remain in the middle of the national tournament table.
Peixe returns to the field this Thursday, at 7:00 p.m., to face Olimpia, in Paraguay, for the group stage of the Libertadores. Fortaleza has an appointment with its rival Ceará in the final of the state tournament this Wednesday, at 7pm.

Peixe’s jersey 11 was one of the most creative players of the match. She took the free throw that provided assistance to Madson, as well as other opportunities during the game.
Who went wrong: Alex
Acting on the right, the young left-handed defender did not pass security to the defense sector. Alex had the company of Luan Peres in the duel, but not with the defender who usually starts with him in the Libertadores, since Luan is suspended and Alex must start.
Game timeline
Santos opened the scoring in the 41st minute with Madson. The right-back deflected a free kick from Marinho and scored his second goal for Peixe, both with a header. Fortaleza tied after four minutes of the second stage, when Gabriel Dias completed a corner kick for the goal.

Coach Cuca forgave Uruguayan Carlos Sánchez and right-back Pará, but Santos worked just as well, or even better. Peixe did not suffocate Fortaleza, but managed to create even more easily than in the last games. He hit the post on Soteldo’s play with a slight deflection from Kaio Jorge.
The Fortaleza game: the Ceni team is undeterred
Fortaleza had no qualms about playing within Vila Belmiro and maintained his style of play, prioritizing maintaining possession of the ball. The two teams shared time of possession, but Peixe came to “give the ball” to Fortaleza as a strategy during part of the duel, defender Madson explained in an interview.
