The body of Samuel Henrique dos Santos, 8 years old, disappeared since Friday afternoon (4) in the Anhanduí River, was found about 4 kilometers from the point where he disappeared, inside a rural property.
Fire Department Lieutenant Colonel Fernando de Almeida Carminatti said the boy’s body was found floating on a curve near a waterfall. It was located by two divers.
According to Carminatti, the body was not found before because the area where it was found was not possible to dive. The suspicion is that he was entangled in something.
This Tuesday (8), as the riverbed decreased, in addition to the team of divers, the searches also had the help of a drone and two sniffer dogs. One is trained to locate remains and the other is missing persons.
“We created a search strategy. It was a complex and detailed operation. It focused on technique and not quantity. In this case, the more people, the more it gets in the way,” he explained.
Looking for – The search for Samuel began Friday afternoon when he disappeared while fishing with the brothers in the river, located at the back of his uncle’s house.
On the first day, at dusk, searches were carried out on the banks of the river. On Saturday, the military logged 16 kilometers, on Sunday 20 kilometers and, yesterday, another 35 kilometers.
