Jorge Sampaoli’s routine changed a lot between Santos beach in 2019 and the Minas Gerais lagoon this year. The Argentine coach does not hide his longing for Baixada Santista.

Even before the pandemic, he spent most of his time at Atlético de CT, at Vespasiano or at his home in a gated condominium in Lagoa Santa. The distance is 15 km.
The trip from the condo to the CT is usually by car and not by bicycle due to the large number of accidents. Sampaoli lives with his wife Paula and their son León, who is almost a year old.
The lagoon is his challenge and where Jorge Sampaoli feels closest to the beach routine of 2019. In the condominium you usually see the Argentine on a bicycle.
Sampaoli’s workaholic style was kept in Galo and it is not uncommon for him to leave a game in Mineirão and go to CT. Or get to work at dawn, before dawn.
Jorge Sampaoli will have a reunion with Santos and the city of Santos this Wednesday, at 9:30 p.m. (Brasília), in Vila Belmiro, for the ninth round of the Brazilian Championship. The beach, however, will be another opportunity.
