Neither George Russell nor Valtteri Bottas. Mercedes was beaten in the third free practice session of the Sakhir GP by Max Verstappen and his RBR. The Dutchman has had the best time of the weekend so far, setting 54.064 in his fastest lap and overtaking second-placed Bottas at 0.206. The sensation on Friday when he led both sessions replacing Lewis Hamilton with Covid-19, Russell was seventh.

Brazilian Pietro Fittipaldi, a substitute for the injured Romain Grosjean, was ranked 19th, ahead of another rookie of the weekend, Jack Aitken of Williams.

Pietro Fittipaldi again used free training to gain mileage with the Haas car. At first, he entered the track and did 11 laps in the first 15 minutes. Despite a blockage on the right front tire, the Brazilian continued with his schedule. However, since he had changed several components of the car, Pietro will necessarily start in the last position.

Max Verstappen again complained a lot about the traffic during practice, but ironically he made a lap just when he was not close to anyone: at the exit of Turn 2 the RBR Dutchman came out from behind and then dived the other way. Despite damaging the tires, Max did not crash.
