Neither George Russell nor Valtteri Bottas. Mercedes was beaten in the third free practice session of the Sakhir GP by Max Verstappen and his RBR. The Dutchman has had the best time of the weekend so far, setting 54.064 in his fastest lap and overtaking second-placed Bottas at 0.206. The sensation on Friday when he led both sessions replacing Lewis Hamilton with Covid-19, Russell was seventh.
Brazilian Pietro Fittipaldi, a substitute for the injured Romain Grosjean, was ranked 19th, ahead of another rookie of the weekend, Jack Aitken of Williams.

The good surprise of the training session was Pierre Gasly, third place with AlphaTauri. Esteban Ocon (Renault) and Lando Norris (McLaren) completed the top five, ahead of Alexander Albon (RBR).
