RTX Voice: Nvidia’s noise filter can be installed on GTX GPUs! Look how

[ad_1]

Although the solution is not official, in our tutorial we managed to perform the operation with a GTX 1050 Ti.

A Nvidia recently introduced the RTX Voice, a new audio software that uses artificial intelligence to filter noise and improve audio broadcasts and conversations on the web. The show was introduced as an exclusive for RTX video cards, but a forum member Guru3D I discovered that you can install the novelty on previous GPUs maker

Nvidia distributes the RTX Voice installer through its website and if the user tries to install the program on a video card without a Tensor Cores, the system already warns that the procedure is not possible. Guru3D’s David Lake found a solution to avoid the problem and it works even on Windows 7.

We tested the idea using a Windows 10 laptop with GTX 1050 Ti and show you step by step to perform the installation. It is important to remember, however, that the solution is not official and it can present problems as it is made for RTX GPU. Therefore, you must follow the procedure. At your own risk.

Installing RTX Voice on a GTX GPU

First download the RTX Voice installer no Nvidia website. The download link is available in the article. “Download the application” and it can also be done directly here After downloading the file, start the installation process as usual.

As expected, you you should get an error message saying that its GPU is not compatible with the novelty, as in the screen above. After the negative, close the program. Trying to install results in automatic decompression of RTX voice files, which are in C: temp NVRTXVoice.

To get to the folder with the unzipped files, open the command Run from Windows 10 (Ctrl + R) and search C: temp NVRTXVoice. When the directory opens, contact NvAFX and find the file RTXVoice.nvi.

Then you need to open RTXVoice.nvi file with Windows 10 Notepad and remove the “restrictions” section, which includes the content marked in the image below:

After making the change, I just save the RTXVoice.nvi file again. It is important to note that the editing procedure must be done with administrative privileges, which can be easily changed in the “Sharing” tab, found at the top of Windows File Explorer, between the Start and View options.

With the change made, the user only needs return to the C: temp NVRTXVoice folder and perform the installation using the installation executable. If nothing goes wrong, the process of implementing RTX Voice on PC should continue normally.

According to reports collected by the website 3D Guru, RTX Voice works with multiple 10 and 16 series video cards, more or success in the operation is not guaranteed. Also, because the installation process is recent, there is still no information on issues and performance impact caused by using software on GPUs that are not officially supported. With that in mind, repeating, the process must be done at the user’s own risk.

RTX Voice Compatible Programs

If you install the program, it is also important to note that RTX Voice only works on some currently supported programs.

Below is a list of software that can already work with Nvidia technology that uses artificial intelligence to improve audio quality:

OBS Studio
XSplit Broadcaster
XSplit Gamecaster
Twitch Studio
Discord
Google Chrome
Battle.net Chat
WebEx
Skype
Zoom
Slack
Steam chat
