In protest calling for the return of the collectors in the colectivos, highway workers prevent Transcol buses from leaving the companies’ garage on Monday morning (04).

According to the Trade Union of Road Transport Workers of the State of Espírito Santo (Sindirodoviários), only collectibles with air conditioning and minibuses can leave the garage, which are those that were no longer circulating with collectors even before the pandemic.

There are reports of demonstrations in at least four companies (Praia Sol, Unimar, Serrana and Satellite), but all roads have difficulties to circulate buses.

The union protests against the continued suspension of pickers’ activities on Transcol buses. These professionals were fired in May and included in the program to reduce or suspend working hours.

Therefore, the use of the GV Card will remain mandatory on Transcol system buses. The ordinance with the changes was signed last Monday (28) by the Secretary of State for Mobility and Infrastructure, Fábio Damasceno. To justify the decision, the folder cites the “need to continue maintaining emergency measures that reduce the risk of contamination in Public Transport (Transcol System) to users and users of the road due to the coronavirus.”
