The police have already identified the perpetrator of the shots that killed a drug trafficker and injured five bathers last Saturday (26) in Prainha in Arraial do Cabo, in Rio de Janeiro.
The exchange of fire occurred during a confrontation between factions. Willian Adriano Sobreira dos Santos, known as Pará, is already being sought and considered a fugitive.
According to the Police, the region is carrying out a joint operation between civilian and military police to try to locate the criminal. The car in which Pará fled the scene has already been found, as well as a pistol, which was possibly used in the exchange of fire.
Three tourists and two residents were injured during the confrontation. Pará shot the drug trafficker Walmir de Souza Goulart Filho, Walmirzinho, 20 years old. The criminal came to the rescue from a hospital, but did not resist and died.
“As soon as the incident caught our attention, the team from the Homicide Center of the Arraial do Cabo police station mobilized and, within hours, we were able to identify one of the criminals who participated in the action. Our police officers took witness testimony, listened to victims at the hospital, and located security cameras. In a joint action with the Military Police, we began the search for the identified criminal and the car used in the escape. The evidence collected so far reveals that what happened was a confrontation between traffickers from rival criminal factions, ”said the delegate of Arraial do Cabo, Patrícia Aguiar, as determined by the newspaper Extra.
The military police also reported that victims hit by stray bullets are not at risk of death.
“The Press Office of the Secretary of State for Military Police reports that, at the beginning of the afternoon of this Saturday (09/26), military police officers from the 25th BPM (Cabo Frio) were summoned to verify the occurrence of attempted homicide in Praia da Prainha, Cable Camp. At the scene, they found a man seriously wounded by gunfire. Quickly rescued to the General Hospital of Arraial do Cabo, the victim could not resist his injuries. During the criminals’ action, five bathers were also beaten and rescued at the same health unit. Bathers are not in danger of death. Teams search the area to arrest criminals involved in the crime. The fact will be investigated by the 132 DP (Arraial do Cabo) ”, says the note.
The case is still being investigated by the Civil Police, which has already requested images from the security cameras on the beach to identify the criminals. Initial analyzes point to an agreement between rival factions fighting for control of traffic in the region.
