The Rio Preto region advanced to phase 3 (yellow) in the new São Paulo Plan classification. The official announcement was made at a press conference by Governor João Doria and the secretaries, in the Palácio dos Bandeirantes, this Friday 4.
What kept the region in the orange phase was the ICU bed occupancy rate for Covid, which since the inception of the SP Plan was above 75%. On the night of Thursday 3, the index reached 73.2%. With the phase change, the region will be able to reopen beauty salons, hair salons, bars, restaurants and gyms.
The Rio Preto region, made up of 102 cities, was in the orange phase, which has authorized trade with a series of restrictions, since June, when the São Paulo Plan began. The region was the only one that did not have a phase change in the last 12 balance sheets published by the state government.
In the yellow phase, the trade in Rio Preto can operate up to 8 hours a day; in orange, the period is six hours, but restricted to four days of operation. Shopping centers will be able to expand their service with 40% of capacity, according to data on the São Paulo Plan state government website.
